Reiki is an ancient healing treatment of transmitting universal life energy  through the laying on hands. It is a Japanese technique for stress reduction that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki. Rei in English means spiritual consciousness or God consciousness. Ki means life force. The combined word translates to Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy. When a Reiki practitioner channels this energy, the practitioner is merely a medium for the energy to flow through.
